***

When I moved in the new city I started reading Idiot by Dostoevsky. It swallow me quickly, I liked it very much but it was going too deep inside me, acting like an invisible trigger on my confused emotions and feelings in the late time. I have now only ~70 pages left. I will finish it. Indeed I can not avoid thinking of 3 years ago when I finished my first book by Dostoevsky, "Brothers Karamazov". It had again a huge time gap before finishing the last couple of hundred killer pages. Back then I fall sick. Who knows if it was just a coincidence or reality that the book really swallowed all my previous visions about life and made a limit which I haven't yet reached with any other good book. Meanwhile I read a small book full of sentences, present from my mother and I started "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse. Incredible book, only 120 pages, but the books takes its time. I re-read pages, chapters, paragraphs and enjoy it very much. I developed a new term in life: Karma conservation Law which the book reminds, I can not avoid searching for the signs and paths in these confusing, emotional, scattered and empty days. To be continued with pictures from rainy Balchik.

"I thank you, my benefactor," spoke Siddhartha, disembarking on the other
side of the river. "I have no gift I could give you for your
hospitality, my dear, and also no payment for your work. I am a man
without a home, a son of a Brahman and a Samana."

"I did see it," spoke the ferryman, "and I haven't expected any payment
from you and no gift which would be the custom for guests to bear. You
will give me the gift another time."

"Do you think so?" asked Siddhartha amusedly.

"Surely. This too, I have learned from the river: everything is coming
back! You too, Samana, will come back. Now farewell! Let your
friendship be my reward. Commemorate me, when you'll make offerings to
the gods."

"Slowly blossomed, slowly ripened in Siddhartha the realisation, the
knowledge, what wisdom actually was, what the goal of his long search
was. It was nothing but a readiness of the soul, an ability, a secret
art, to think every moment, while living his life, the thought of
oneness, to be able to feel and inhale the oneness. Slowly this
blossomed in him, was shining back at him from Vasudeva's old, childlike
face: harmony, knowledge of the eternal perfection of the world,
smiling, oneness."

* My very own slackline so Aziz is free to come as simply as guest :) Of course his slackline is welcome too :) :: My third reason I am alive!!!
* 4 kilos of pears aka krushi :)
* Darbuka
* A workshop on: climbing trees, Cigansko kolelo, making "bridge" from above and standing up again, svornato horo in 9/8 beats dance, holding hands together and being very happy!!!

all of you are super welcome on the traditional meadow from the past three years on the Saturday, 16:00 7th of May, 2011, Wohlerspark, Hamburg, behind the church near my lovely old place.

Bring: blankets, comfortable shoes, chess, ball, all kind of gadgets and tools which are appropriate for open air amusemen and in general all kind of things which are not listed above and will make you feel great celebrating with met!

My german number is valid, so please call me there. To those of you who deleted and thought you will never ever need this number:

My plan is to continue the night with some electro beats somewhere, will it be frappant, will be the pudel, will it be hafenklang, will be decided on the go! But as usually improvisation is a master of every plan, so it all will get clear on the day 7th.

If the weather decides to be a bastard, I will celebrate somewhere in the evening in the common bars with Jagi aka Kickers, not yet sure where!!!! But you will be updated via email If no update comes from me, I will be expecting YOU in the park even if it is raining... die hard :))

*
I dont like poetry in general, but once I was a teenager, my brother brought home one book called "French Surrealists". there were plenty of poems I remembered and thrilled me, and like a ray of light last night I remembered the fabulous Jacques Prevert. I will post my favourite one in Bulgarian and French only, I couldn't find an english translation. The others came like a storm of memories and joy! Please share it with me :)

Et cela me faisait plaisir
Pinson pinson pinson pinson

но ми става приятно да играя така;

FOR YOU MY LOVE

I went to the bird market
And bought birds
For you my love

I went to the flower market
And bought flowers
For you my love

I went to the iron market
And bought chains
Heavy chains
For you my love

Then I went to the slave market
And looked for you
But I couldn’t find you
my love

Time Material

It is time for me to leave Hamburg! The idea for a party has been growing in my head for about two years, originally I wanted to do it when I finished the PhD. But since the autumn and winter were a bit hectic I had no time to organise anything in this direction. And now since my time in Hamburg is finishing, I decided to finally do it. The party will be on 19.02 and the picture talks by itself. I am leaving Hamburg, and moving to Antwerp, Belgium. I will be working in the University for one of the experiments on the LHC. I am excited, and although scared, I am deeply convinced it is a good change. 5 years and a half in wonderful Hamburg it is time for me to go :) and it has to be celebrated! I'll be glad if you drop by :))

For The Forrest

There was a demonstration against the "protective" law for the Bulgarian forests. The people from forthenature.org announced that whoever is not able to attend is welcome to send picture 'with a relevant message" and we did these two... The sentence comes from a song of the neubauten, I saw them live last week in Paris, and during that concert I came with the idea to make the pictures with this message, If it is not clear why the sentence is relevant ask me :)

Liesel Meminger

I finished the book called "The Book Thief". It is about a girl called Liesel Meminger who is only 9 years old when the WW2 starts. The action happens in nazi Germany and is very catchy novel. It doesn't let you leave the book for more than 6 hours. However, by the beginning of the book, I thought to myself "Ok the story is very well said but why those shallow characters and what it all will be about" In a way I knew the answer, it didn't surprise me by the end of the book. But it also grew so strong by the end, that (ok, this might be normal for me but I really was very touched by the story) It made me put it next to the books which changed my life. It tells nothing new on the moral side, at least not anything new for me but it brings all those stormy thoughts you have buried down in your subconscious right on the surface and makes you think about meaning of life and why do people behave so bad. Perhaps is also good to mention that I never had a hate or anger towards the Germans about the Jewish story, nor the WW2. I had an anger towards the human beings, I always thought that is by far a shame to the human beings (including me) rather than a single nation. May be those of you who read the book will find my post little confusing but this book, it truly brought some very positive and good thoughts in me and still it was talking about perhaps the worst thing that people experienced (WW2). Find and read it, it truly is a good book with good things to take home.

It is nice to be nice

Yes, it is done!! Once and forever, I told to myself, never again a PhD, at least not in physics!!! Was not an easy task, and the satisfaction somehow comes later!!! It is 17 days behind me now but it is still difficult to appreciate it! And now, questions like those from the falling whale from the "Hitch Hiker's guide...", "Who am I?, What am I doing here? And What's my purpose in life?" appear and tear my head!! At least now I have no such a vast task to complete!! IT IS DONE!!! Thank you people for sharing my thoughts and being with me during this time! The thesis can be found here.... if you dare :) And is it a coincidence or a mark on the way, but once I published this post, my player started THIS SONG

Wonderland again!

Really rewarding vacations, full of emotions, a lot of hellos and very few (thanks God) Good byes and farewell. The few farewells I had were heavy, always with tears in my eyes. I love these people from the pictures! I am not really in the mood to say the whole story of the 4 weeks vacations, but shortly:

  • Arrived in Varna on 12th of August, to more than 35 degrees with a direct flight from Hamburg where the temperature was ... 12 degrees
  • Three days later on the 15th of August I had the annual party in the House
  • A short trip north with my friends from Hamburg Juliana, Alberto and Oscar
  • A trip to the Rodopi mountains where we went to a festival called "Beglika free fest"
  • On the way we met with three pajaros coming with a car from France, friends of Alberto
  • Continued the Rodopi trip to Tsepina fortress, established in the 4th century by the thracians, the last fortress from second Bulgaria to fall under the Ottomans, really a sacred and wonderful place
  • A short and exciting trip to the Turkish black sea and Istanbul
  • A trip back to Balchik, with chilling afternoons
  • A trip to Burgas to visit granny and family
  • A trip to Gabrovo to bring Vihra to her mother which I didn't expect to meet
  • A flight back to Hamburg with a lot of tears in my eyes
Please listen THIS SONG and THIS SONG while watching THESE PICTURES

And many pictures from all around!

This post is about some random thoughts about the great artist of Bulgarian descent, Christo Yavashev. He refuses speaking Bulgarian, and this is a question which I sort of am curious to know the answer. I have some decent guesses for his reasons, and I definitely am not accusing him of this decision. Late in the evening I also found an interview of another Bulgarian genius, name, Marius Kurkinski. With him I have had one of the most emotional and unforgeable experience in theater! I just wanted to share my thoughts with my Bulgarian fellows who are passing by! Excuse my lame post, but lately I am very tired of writing!
